About

What is this?

You don’t know what you’re doing. Neither do I. The way I learn best is by doing and I find direction and tips through DIY sites and YouTube™ videos, but they are almost always experts telling you what you should do rather than walking through their own learning process. If you’re in a hurry, cool. If you want to experience the learning, reasoning and figuring shit out processes, I am hoping to add to the mix of folks that do this with my own.

Who Am I?

Great question. I’m an IT professional with expertise in complex program management focusing on process improvement, information workflows, and collaboration. Which translates to “I do what whomever my employers are at the time tell me to do”.

I have been laid off since June 2025 and have picked up some sporadic contract work, so I have unwisely decided to invest in a few new ventures to learn new skills and to have some fun. And maybe at least break even on the money invested to learn them. But that’s unlikely. So it’s about the journey, not the destination, right? Really it should be.

I live in Portland, Oregon (which is in fact, not burning/burnt to the ground) for half my adult life and am involved in many volunteer efforts around issues of hunger, houselessness, livability and public safety. There are things I am passionate about and they are embedded in my everyday life. If they are things you are not passionate about or want to hear about, then this site is likely not for you.

But I believe in community finding commonality to have conversations while rooted in values of the idea that everyone should have the ability to live their best lives with the least amount of friction and obstacles regardless of status, background, and identity. I hope you do too.
